Shaykh Dr Naji ibn Rashid al-Arabi

Shaykh Dr Naji ibn Rashid al-Arabi حفظه الله is reputable scholar from Bahrain, having studied under numerous leading scholars of recent times. In Bahrain, he studied primarily with Shaykh al-Wali Muhammad Ibn Ali Ibn Yaqub al-Hijazi. He also graduated from the prestigious Al-Azhar University (Cairo), having studied under the great scholar of Cairo, Shaykh Ismail al-Adawi amongst others. He also graduated from the eminent Zaytuna University of Tunisia.

His thirst for knowledge also lead him to numerous other countries, including Morroco and Makkah al-Mukarramah, where he studied with some of the greatest recent hadith scholars, including Shaykh Abdullah ibn Siddiq al-Ghumari and Muhammad Ibn Alawi al-Maliki, amongst others.

Shaykh Naji Al-Arabi has authored many books, mainly on hadith and its sciences. He currently serves as a Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Bahrain.

Shaykh Dr. Adil Salahi

Shaykh Dr. Adil Salahi has a varied background in English Literature and Islamic Studies, with professional accolades that include institutions as diverse as the World Health Organisation and the Markfield Institute of Higher Education. Having studied under various scholars in Damascus, his experience resulted in certification from numerous teachers in the age-old tradition of Islamic juristic thought. His main career has been in broadcasting and print journalism, which has seen him spend time on Syrian radio and at the BBC Arabic Service.

For over 30 years he was the editor of Islam in Perspective, a twice-weekly full-page column in Saudi’s daily newspaper, the Arab News. His writings include the acclaimed Muhammad: Man and Prophet, the much lauded Pioneers of Islamic Scholarship, and an English translation of the Quran. More recently Shaykh Salahi penned Muhammad: His Character and Conduct, and he continues to publish in the Arab broadsheets, always offering his unique perspective on Islamic history and Quranic study.

Shaykh Dr Haitham al-Haddad

Shaykh Dr Haitham al-Haddad حفظه الله is a jurist and UK based Scholar who currently serves as the Chair of the Fatwa Committee for The Islamic Council of Europe. He has studied Islamic sciences for over 20 years under the tutelage of renowned scholars. He obtained his doctorate on the jurisprudence of Muslim Minorities from SOAS. He specialises in many of the Islamic sciences and, together with his academic background, has an ocean of experience in helping people use Islamic principles as solutions for their everyday lives. He has over the course of the past decade dealt with several hundred cases.

Shaykh Shafiur Rahman

Shaykh Shafiur Rahman حفظه الله is a Management Consultant, occasional Imam and Islamic studies teacher based in London. He holds an MSc in Addictive Behaviour and PGDip in Business Administration. He spent a number of years in the Middle studying Arabic and Islamic studies including at the prestigious Al-Azhar University in Cairo. He teaches Arabic and Islamic Studies in Al-Salaam Institute and Jibreel Institute – he is director of the latter and a trustee of the East London Mosque. Currently, he serves as the Executive Director of the Osmani Trust.

Mufti Liaquat Zaman

Born and raised in Birmingham, Mufti Liaquat Zaman completed his school and college education before moving to Pakistan at the age of 18 with an intention to seek sacred knowledge. A short hifdh programme preceded official entrance onto the Alimiyyah Course at Jamiah Uloom Al-Islamiyyah, Banori Town where Mufti Liaquat Zaman dedicated the next 8 years of his life. Under the guidance of leading teachers Mufti Liaquat Zaman committed himself to the study of the various Islamic sciences with diligence and zeal. He developed close ties with his teachers, benefitting immensely from their company inside and outside of the classroom.

Upon graduation in 2008, Mufti Liaquat Zaman decided to further develop his passion and ability in Fiqh and enrolled onto the Iftah Course at Jamiah Tayyibah, Karachi. Here an intense year of specialisation terminated with Ijaazah in Iftah, whereby Mufti Liaquat Zaman returned to the UK with a view of imparting knowledge to his local community.

Mufti Liaquat Zaman has since taught children and adults alike; from maktab teaching to private tutoring to online courses, many have benefitted from the unique and simple teaching style of Mufti Liaquat Zaman. Currently Mufti Liaquat Zaman is a teacher on the Alimiyyah Course and Heirs of the Scholars at As-Suffa Institute, teaching various books including Sahih Bukhari and Sunan Tirmidhi which he has been teaching for the last 4 years.

His insights and aptitude for Fiqh led him to develop the pioneering Evolution of Fiqh series- detailed weekend courses on the progression of legal jurisprudence over the ages. He also teaches an exclusive Advanced Fiqh module to select graduates of the Alimiyyah Course.

Mufti Liaquat Zaman has been delivering lectures, khutbahs and courses for a number of years and has become a well-known figure in the community. His desire to reconnect all Muslims, especially the youth, with the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah led him to begin his YouTube Channel and Anchor podcasts as a means of bridging the disconnect between the public and the scholars.

Shaykh Kazi Ashiqur Rahman

Shaykh Kazi Ashiqur Rahman is graduate of prestigious Al-Azhar University from the Faculty of Islamic Studies & Arabic Language in year 2016. He is an MA candidate in Shariah in the same faculty and university. Shaykh Kazi Ashiqur Rahman is a melodious reciter of the Glorious Quran and holds Ijaazah in number of Qiraat/Dialectal Recitations from various Shuyookh in Egypt. He is an experienced Quran and Islamic Studies teacher and alongside with his teaching at Mimbar Academy, he is also serving as the lead Imam and Khateeb in Darul Ummah Masjid in East London.

Mufti Maruf Ahmed

Mufti Maruf Ahmed studied the Islamic Sciences at Darul Hadis Latifiah, London. He then furthered his studies in the UK and also travelled abroad to study in Yemen and Egypt. He went on to complete his Masters Degree in Islamic Studies at the Muslim College, London. Thereafter, he completed the Ifta course at Darul Ifta Birmingham, and graduated as a Mufti.

He is the founder and CEO of Rashad Academy, and its lead lecturer in the Faculty of Law & Jurisprudence. He also teaches Hadith and Arabic at Darul Hadis Latifiah, and serves as the Imam and Khatib of Brick Lane Jamme Masjid.

Course(s): He is currently teaching Mukhtasar al-Quduri and Usul al-Shashi. He was also our course instructor for Fasting: Disciplining The Soul & Body, Family Planning in Islam and our annual Fiqh of Fasting seminar.
