Welcome to the Young Leaders Programme! The Tajweed module is designed to develop the student’s proficiency in Arabic phonetics specifically for the purpose of the recitation of the Qur’an. The module takes beginners in Tajweed through the art of pronunciation, distinguishing between similar letters and highlighting common mistakes. Students will learn and implement the essential rules of Tajweed, and have an opportunity to recite to an experienced teacher.
Topics include, but not limited to:
- Makharij al-Huruf (Correct pronunciation of Arabic letters)
- Rules of Nun Sakinah and Tanween
- Rules of Madd (elongation of letters)
- Common mistakes
- Recitation before a teacher, with immediate feedback
